Genshin Impact 6:4 Gender Ratio Collapses, Male Departure Accelerates

As of August 2025, the estimated gender ratio of Genshin Impact players in South Korea, combining Android and iOS, was tallied at 50.3% male and 49.7% female. This marks a record where the proportion of female players has steadily risen, reaching near parity with male players for the first time.
The male proportion (50.3%) decreased by 5.1%p compared to the same month last year (July 2024, 55.4%), and dropped by 9.5%p over two years compared to July 2023 (59.8% male, 40.2% female). In other words, this records the highest female proportion since the launch of Genshin Impact. The existing '6:4 gender ratio structure' has collapsed, and a clear change in gender composition is appearing among the Korean Genshin Impact audience.
Of course, there are limitations to these statistics. For example, data can be distorted if children use their parents' smartphones, and PC platform users are excluded from the tally. However, even considering these constraints, the steady upward trend in the female proportion shows that Genshin Impact's primary target demographic is changing.
